21st Annual Common Core of European Private Law: "Property and Inequality in the 21st century" June 12th-13th, 2015
University of Gothenburg, Sweden
Inequality is at the root of the most pressing problems of our times, presenting an obstacle not only to economic recovery in the European Union, but also placing into doubt Europe's ability to act as a leader of global justice. This 21st Annual Common Core explores the role of law in contributing to deepening inequality in the 21st century. What kinds of reforms may be necessary to promote more equal outcomes- not just at the point of tax and surplus transfer- but inside the very structures of property law that organize our economy? This conference combines comparative law analysis and policy advocacy with the aim of answering this important and burgeoning question.
