COMPARATIVE LAW: INTELLECTUAL TRENDS AND PERSPECTIVES. A SCHOLARLY DEBATE

The XXII AIDC Conference will explore anew the intellectual assessment of comparative law, moving from a critical re-mapping of traditional and conventional views. The aims are both to explore and debate the recent trends in legal scholarship, and to suggest arguments for a pluralistic comparative law epistemology. What is at stake is the strategic power of comparative law as a discipline in order to construct a global theorization of legal and geopolitical order; to shape and control cultural flows and forms; to articulate contemporary spatial dialectics.

Submissions may include, but are not limited to, an exploration of the following possible themes and issues:

- comparative law, governance and politics

- legal origins and law reforms

- methods and perspectives

- legitimating discourses and practices

- the globalization of contract, torts and property

- order and sovereignty

- corporate perspectives and secured transactions

- hybridity and legal systems.

An international committee of legal scholars, chaired by prof. Pardolesi of Luiss University in Rome, and Prof. Giovanni Marini, ManagingEditor of the Comparative Law Review, will act as referees to select the papers, according to all major International standards.

Tell us what you plan to do; lay out the major argument of the paper, say something about the methodology, and what you think will be the paperʹs contribution to scholarship.

Inaugurata la Summer University in Comparative Law

Prof. Frankenberg lecturing

Si è inaugurata in questi giorni a Perugia la Summer University in Comparative Law diretta e organizzata da Giovanni Marini.

La seduta inaugurale presieduta dal prof. Paciullo si è tenuta nella magnifica cornice dell'antico palazzo dell'Università per Stranieri.

Gli studenti selezionati e provenienti dalle più diverse sedi accademiche  e dottorati, hanno poi assistito ai primi seminari tenuti da Gunter Frankenberg su Comparative Constitutional Law; Pierre Schlag su Critical Comparative Jurisprudence, P.G.Monateri su Hamlet and the State of Exception, e da Leopold Specht su Global/Local in financial markets and property.

L'iniziativa si segnala tra le più innovative e prestigiose nel panorama degli insegnamenti internazionali di Diritto Comparato; destinata a diventare un appuntamento fisso come momenti di incontro e discussione tra giovani studiosi e intellettuali di rango internazionale, essa si prefigge di diventare il locus della 'theory' e dell'approccio critico alla comparazione giuridica.

Grande Successo del Convegno dei Giovani Comparatisti ad Aosta

Nella magnifica cornice di Aosta, inaugurato dal Rettore Cassella, si è svolto il III Colloquio dei giovani comparatisti.

Sessione Parallela

L'avvenimento, importante anche per lo sviluppo della Sede, ha avuto una grande riuscita con la partecipazione di numerosissimi giovani relatori delle più varie sedi universitarie, dimostrando ancora una volta il successo dell'iniziativa e la vitalità della formula del Call for Papers.

Serata Conviviale: Pardolesi, Pascuzzi, Rodotà.

Oltre che per l'importanza scientifica dei lavori, presentati e discussi nelle sessioni parallele, il colloquio si è segnalato anche per la calda atmosfera di amicizia e ospitalità che lo ha contraddistinto, come testimoniano le fotto qui riprodotte, che vanno dal tavolo dei relatori alla cena ... con partita inclusa.

Tommaso Frosini entra nel Direttivo della AIDC

Tommaso Edoardo Frosini è entrato, durante la riunione di Aosta, nel Direttivo della AIDC
Frosini. Ben noto a tutti i comparatisti Frosini subentra all'amico Giulio Ponzanelli, che lascia dopo tanti anni di attività in Direttivo, e tanta dedizione alla nostra Associazione.

Il Presidente P.G. Monateri ha ringraziato commosso, nella seduta finale del Convegno di Aosta Giulio Ponzanelli, cui si debbono ben due Colloqui biennali dell'Associazione, oltre all'assiduo e diuturno impegno in ogni attività: "Studioso di fama, uomo di vaglia, amico da sempre, fin dal comune assistentato in Bocconi con il mai dimenticato Gianguido Scalfi".

In questo modo tutti hanno affettuosamente salutato l'ingresso di Tommaso Frosini che con le sue note capacità, e con la sua cordialità innata e signorile contribuirà non solo all'ulteriore sviluppo della nostra Associazione, ma anche ad una sempre maggiore rilevanza del settore pubblicistico della medesima.
